What? Is that a thing? No way, interior design is only for the rich and famous, the well to-doers and Insta Influencers. Right?

Nope, interior design in achievable to anyone who makes it a priority. And, I want to offer you a couple of thoughts about how you can make some design choices in your home that will have a big impact at a respectable dollar amount.

I wrote a blog on Monday concerning the current supply chain issues and the effect it is having on AWH being able to complete projects… So, I started and finished a project at home in three days with ZERO supply issues, just to prove, to myself, that it could be done. I chose to make some quick and easy changes to our downstairs bathroom; a little paint and some trim has a big impact.

As a designer and a new business owner, the supply chain defects are backing up business and making it nearly impossible to share completed projects with my five followers. Even the most simple projects are taking up months on the calendar due to a single backordered object.

I’ve come up with some workarounds and want to share with you how you can still complete a project with little sacrifice and a lot less waiting around.

Take these simple steps to remedy the chaos that has taken over your pantry.

We all have laundry, most of us have to do our own laundry - the sorting, the washing, the drying, the folding, the putting away... And most of us have a lot of laundry, my household is made up of three humans and we could do laundry every. single. day. The average family in the US does eight to ten loads of laundry per week, that’s a lot of laundry.

I am sure you have heard of a “She Shed,” yes? It is defined as, “a small building separate from the home, reserved specifically for the use of an adult woman, in which she can relax and pursue her interests.” This trend is gaining in popularity to its’ counterpart, the “man cave,” and definitely has more style than most man caves around.

Have you ever looked at someone else’s things and thought, “Ohmigod, that is the coolest thing I have ever seen! Where did you get that thing?” Usually, their response is something like, “Target,” or “TJ Maxx.” But, not this client, her responses were, “Paraguay,” or “Italy,” or some random antique store in Amish Country.

Closets are a girls’ best friend, they house our favorite pair of jeans, our coziest sweatshirts, our fancy thingimabobs and thingimajigs (you like that Little Mermaid reference?)! Or wait, is the closet our biggest enemy? Hiding our fat pants, mismatched socks, and useless crap we don’t even know we have because it is buried under a mountain of procrastination and resentment.

It happens. Life changes and with that, so do addresses. Moving day is inevitable across the timeline of your life. On average, Americans move about 12x in their lifetime (I just turned 40 and I have already moved 8x)! That’s a lot of packing and unpacking, right?
